Fifteen school board member positions in McPherson County are up for election April 2.
The deadline to file was Jan. 22. There will be no primary.
McPherson USD 418 school board members are elected at large.
For McPherson USD 418, terms are expiring for Donna Viola, Terry Krier and Brad Berg. Berg, a 42-year-old new products project manager at Hospira, is the only one running for re-election.
Other candidates filed are Rob Bonham, 33, who works in retail at Dillons; Kim Janzen, 50, urgent care and emergency room physician throughout Kansas; Brian L Kynaston, 41, area dentist; Rhonda K Wince, 42, accountant in McPherson; and Nancy C Young, 33, marketing director, teacher and adviser at McPherson College.
For Smoky Valley USD 400, which includes Lindsborg, terms are expiring for three members. Andrew "Andy" Carlson, a 41-year old infor United Fire Group, is running for re-election for position 5. Thomas DeWitt and Todd M. Graham do not intend to be candidates in the next election.
Running for their spots are Christopher Bauer, 41, a trooper for the Kansas Highway Patrol for position 6; and Karna S Peterson, 47, registered dietitian for U.S. Foods for position 4.
For Canton-Galva USD 419, three terms are expiring. This includes two members who are running for re-election: Bruce Bray, 58, employed at Bradbury Company Inc., in Moundridge, for position 6; and Christina Kidd, 32, self-employed with a licensed day care, for position 6.
Lisa Goering is not running again for position 4. Running for her position are Jarod Littrell, 36, employed with the National Cooperative Refinery Association in McPherson; and Todd Moddelmog, 43, assembler at Bradbury Company Inc., in Moundridge.
For Moundridge USD 423, terms are expiring for three at -large members, all of whom are running for re-election. This includes Ryan Durst, 42, senior manager of sales at Bradbury Company Inc., in Moundridge; James Ratzlaff, 45, a physician in McPherson County; and Paul Ullom-Minnich, 46, medical doctor in McPherson County.
For Inman USD 448, terms are expiring for three at-large members, all of whom are running for re-election. This includes: David K Balzer, 47, assistant manager of operations at the National Cooperative Refinery Association in McPherson; Kevin Honeycutt, 47, an educational technical consultant for ESSDACK in Hutchinson; and Mark Ropp, 50, self-employed.
Little River USD 444 is outside of McPherson County but still educates some local students.
Terms are expiring for three board members. Two of those are running for re-election, including Jared Wilson and Philip Nelson. Susan Zeller is running against Nelson for his position 6. Doug Peters is running unopposed for the position vacated by Derrick Herzog.
