Scripture: Acts 14:19 NIV Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead.
20 But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.
Observation: Paul was stoned and appeared dead by those stoning him. He survived the stoning and the next day left for another city. He did not travel by ambulance, train, plane, but walked. After being thought dead, he walks to the next city! Surely God’s hand was on him!
Application: Two days ago as I was closing up my school bus, I slipped on some dust on the floor and fell down the steps of the bus. I was able to limp back into the bus barn and later that evening an x-ray showed a broken bone. Getting around is quite painful and I have a fresh appreciation for Paul walking to Derbe after being stoned and left for dead.
Prayer: Lord, your touch brought healing and restoration to Paul. May your touch do the same for me. Amen
