  • Donation given to food cupboard

  • The McPherson Technical Professional Development Program raised $350 for the McPherson Food Cupboard this past weekend during their Super Bowl party. The money was raised by playing a Super Bowl Squares Contest. The pool was to be split equally between the winners and the Food Cupboard, but all winners graciously donated their winnings back to the Food Cupboard.

The Food cupboard and diaper ministry of the First United Methodist Church has been in operation since April 2005, helping families in need in the community. In January of this year, the mission gave away roughly 50 food boxes and 30 packages of diapers and wipes to 60 families. The ministry typically serves those working families who do not qualify for other assistance, but will help anyone.
"I would like to extend deep thanks to all who have felt led to give to this mission and for giving me a time and a place to share with everyone at Hospira about it," said Rebecca Lewis, assistant coordinator.
The Hospira Technical Professional Development Program is an entry-level, two-year rotational program designed to provide recent graduates of engineering accelerated training in the pharmaceutical operations field. The program offers real world, hands-on experience in important roles and projects to the company while promoting personal and professional growth for the participants.
