  • The McPherson College men’s and women’s basketball teams split with Kansas Wesleyan University Saturday, with the men winning big 92-76 and the women falling 54-48.
    Samson Shivers had a career night for Mac College Saturday night in the men’s game, dropping 37 points on the Coyotes, going 10-of-23 from the floor and 6-of-15 from three-point range. His 15 attempts from distance broke his own school record for most three-point attempts, set at 14 last season.
    McPherson, as a team, shot 44 percent from the floor in the win, going 31-of-71.
    Adam Bruner had 16 points for the Bulldogs (11-16, 5-11 KCAC). Jake Reinhardt picked up a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
    In the women’s game, the Lady Bulldogs were down as much as 17 right before halftime but fought back in the second, coming up short in the comeback attempt.
    McPherson (14-12, 8-8) finished the game at 16-of-59.
    Bailey Brown led the Bulldogs in scoring with 13 points.
     Thursday will see the Bulldogs on the road against Sterling in the final road game of the season
