  • St. Joseph Catholic School has been named a Banner School for the 2012-2013 school year by the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. This award was given to only six of the 39 Catholic schools in the diocese.

  • St. Joseph Catholic School has been named a Banner School for the 2012-2013 school year by the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. This award was given to only six of the 39 Catholic schools in the diocese.
    The Banner School designation is reserved for schools that meet five criteria set by the diocese. They include
    • The school is totally committed to the mission of being disciples of Jesus Christ. In this school, faith comes first.
    • The school is outstanding academically, exceeding state standards and diocesan standards for math, reading, science and social studies.
    • The school works hard to increase enrollment. St. Joseph School has increased by 36 percent in grades kindergarten through sixth grade during the last 10 years
    • The school is committed to the same mission as Bishop Jackels, making the parish school and church to become one entity.
    The award was presented to the faculty and staff at a special luncheon of St. Joseph Catholic School during National Catholic School Week, making.
    “I’m very proud of the hard work and dedication of the faculty and staff. They are truly committed to using best practices in the classroom to promote student learning spiritually, academically, and emotionally,” Principal Peggy Bahr said. “Because of this, the school continues to foster students who go on to do well in their next level of education and become outstanding citizens in our community.”
