The township of Little Valley, located west of Inman, was granted a right of way vacation for the construction of a new township building.
County commissioners on Wednesday to gave the township right of way privileges near the intersections of Chisholm Road and Fourth Avenue.
Kenny Cook, McPherson county planning and zoning administrator, said the building will be used for township equipment and machinery storage.
The township now awaits approval of a special-use permit before construction of the building can begin.
In other business:
• Commissioners approved right of way vacation to each side of 13th Avenue, north of Frontier Road and Southwest of Kansas Highway 153, for NCRA. The NCRA now seeks a special-use permit for the construction of a railcar storage unit, as well as a reclassification of the zone as a heavy industrial zone.
• Commissioners accepted the resignation of Jackson Township treasurer Farrel Perdreaville. Commissioners approved the appointment of Michael Cullinane as the new treasurer for Jackson Township.
• Commissioners approved $5,300 for the purchase of new carpet in the meeting room of the Extension office. Additional fees are to be paid by Extension.
