  • The McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation’s “What Dreams May Come: A Lecture Series on Dreams, Failures, and Passions” returns Monday with Gary Withrow. The museum’s fourth annual lecture series will be in the meeting room at The Well, 101 N. Main, McPherson. The lectures are free to members and cost $3 for non-members. They are at 7 p.m. on the fourth Mondays on the month.
The lectures feature people living in this area who have followed their dreams. These speakers will tell about the dreams they chose to pursue, how they went about their quests and what transpired because of it.
Withrow’s speech is titled “Mapping Out Your Bucket List.”
When Withrow dreams, a tape runs through his mind's eye, playing repeatedly. One such video was of biking across the United States, from California to the East Coast. Despite nay-sayers, he chose to use the power of his mind, his imagination and determination to make it happen. Attend the lecture to learn how Withrow used his dream to make a huge check-mark on his bucket list.
Withrow believes while we can deal with our bucket lists in many ways, he is convinced health and other issues for life can be destined by using the power of the mind, imagination and determination.
He holds before him this quote from Robert Kennedy’s eulogy: “Some men see things as they are and say, why? I dream things that never were and say, ‘Why not?’”
