  • Two McPherson High School soccer players decided to join the Bulldog soccer program, signing their letters of intent on Tuesday.
Nick Torres and Dylan Babcock will become part of the tradition of McPherson College in the fall.
Doug Quint, head coach of the men’s soccer team at McPherson College, was pleased to get a couple of Bullpups to join his 2013 roster.
“To keep the best two McPherson players home was a goal of ours,” Quint said. “The community will get to enjoy their success for another four years.”
Torres is coming off a fantastic 2012 season, where he scored 38 goals and was credited 17 assists, earning about every honor in the book.
He was first-team All-State, first-team All-Region, MVP of the McPherson Invitational, Regional Offensive Player of the Year and invited to play in an All-Star game.
Along with Babcock, they propelled the Bullpups to the Class 4-1A Final Four, where the team finished in fourth place.
Babcock had a fine senior season as well. He scored eight goals and came up with nine assists, playing a number of positions.
He earned second-team AVCTL honors and second-team All-Southwest Region honors, in addition to making the McPherson Invitational All-Tournament Team.
