McPherson College’s Samson Shivers and Adam Bruner have been awarded spots on the All-KCAC Third Team and Honorable Mention Team, respectively.
Bruner also garnered a position on the All-KCAC Defensive team.
Shivers has now earned some kind of all-conference honors for each of his three years at McPherson.
This season, he is averaging a team-high 14.9 points which places him fourth in the league. Shivers is second in the KCAC in three-point makes with 76 and is also second in free throws counted at 115.
He is McPherson College’s all-time leader in three-point attempts (740) and makes (247) and has accumulated 1,472 points through three seasons as a Bulldogs. The Mac record is 2000, something that is not out of reach of Shivers but will require a solid senior season to conquer.
Getting placed on the honorable mention team means that Bruner is one of the top-25 men’s basketball players in the conference this season.
Bruner, the former McPherson High standout, closed out the regular season with a third-best in the KCAC 43 total steals and a seventh place ranking in assists, 68. He has only played in 20 games this season, eight short of the athletes above him in the standings.
Bruner set a few career records this season, tabbing his most points (21), steals (6) and assists (7) in a game.
The Bulldogs enter the conference tournament as the No. 8 seed and will travel to No. 1 University of Saint Mary tonight at 7 p.m.
.USM has already been granted a place in the NAIA National Tournament with their winning of the KCAC Regular Season title.
