The McPherson High basketball teams, the student council and KAY Club have all teamed up to help benefit Kaiden Schroeder as he continues his battle with Leukemia.
As the Bullpups begin sub-state play Monday with the boys hosting Smoky Valley, McPherson High will be donating all gate proceeds for MHS will be donated to the People’s Bank and Trust fund for Schroeder, who has been battling Leukemia since his diagnosis at the age of four in 2009.
The same will be done for the girls’ game at the Roundhouse against Chapman Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
Additionally, the MHS KAY club will be collecting doantions and the MHS Stuco will be sponsoring a 50-50 drawing, again with all proceeds going to help the Schroeder family, which includes his parents, Chris and Jennifer, and Kaiden’s little sister, Ashlyn.
Stewart’s Sports will be donating “Kaiden Krusader” t-shirts for both teams to wear during warm ups and will be available for purchase.
Kaiden has gone through remission and relapse twice since his diagnosis in 2009. His doctors had decided chemotherapy was not working, so a bone marrow transplant has been scheduled. Ashlyn will be his donor.
