  • Elyria Christian School senior Cori Mines recently signed with Oklahoma Baptist University to play volleyball this coming fall.
Mines was instrumental in helping the Eagles reach the Class 1A Division II state volleyball tournament for the first time in the programs’ history this past fall.
The senior received second team All-Wheat State League honors for her efforts this past season.
Mines also serves as student council president at Elyria Christian.
"Cori's work ethic and love for the game make her a joy to coach,” Elyria coach Tonya Robertson said. “I have enjoyed watching her grow as a player this year. God has blessed Cori with leadership qualities that will no doubt bring success in her future."
The Lady Bison, coached by Anna Howle, are coming off their best ever season, going 35-6 and making the NAIA Tournament.
     Mines hasn’t declared a major.
