McPherson police

At 1:03 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of an unattended death.  Found deceased was a 77 year old McPherson male. Police report the cause of death as health related.

At 2:56 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of theft in the 800 block of Pine Court. Stolen were two rings from the vehicle. Estimated losses are $1,764.

At 10:28 p.m. Saturday, an officer responded to a report of theft in the 800 block of Pine Court. The theft was from an unlocked vehicle. Stolen was a 223 Bushmaster AR15, valued at $3,000, 223 caliber ammunition, valued at $90, 22 caliber ammunition, valued at $25, miscellaneous AR15 22 caliber conversion ammo, valued at $265, and a black nylon rifle case, valued at $45.

At 2:06 a.m. Sunday, officers arrested Kyler Chase Freeman, 22, of Denton, TX., on charges of D.U.I., refusal of portable breathalyzer test and speeding. Freeman was released after posting a $1,053 bond.

At 11:34 a.m. Sunday, an officer responded to a report of theft of a vehicle in the 100 block of Prairie Road. Approximate losses were $1,500. The vehicle was later located abandoned on the highway. The victim did not pursue charges.

At 7:28 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to reports of battery. The incident involved four McPherson females; a 38 year old, a 32 year old, a 20 year old and a 10 year old. The 10 year old was a witness to the event. The incident began as a verbal altercation over rumors, then slaps were thrown between the females. No arrests were made, and no serious injuries were reported.



At 4:13 p.m. Friday, firefighters and EMS personnel responded to a fire report in the 1600 block of North Main St. Found was a dryer that had caught on fire. There were no reported injuries. The contents of the dryer suffered some damage, and the dryer suffered minimal damage. Estimated losses are unknown. The fire was reportedly caused by a mechanical failure.
