  • Sunflower Bank announced recently that its Board of Directors has approved the following promotions and officer elections effective Feb. 7.
    Within corporate and all markets were Sue Niernberger, Twila Karmann, Christopher Chlumsky, Cherise Hughes.
    Joining Sunflower Bank almost 23 years ago, Niernberger (senior vice president) has served in a number of administrative, training and sales roles. She currently serves as director of retail sales, leading the regional markets through coaching, and commercial and retail business development.
    Karmann (vice president), who has been with the bank 19 years, is instrumental in Sunflower Bank’s development of customer-friendly deposit and loan products and ensuring the bank meets regulatory requirements. She is a member of the bank’s marketing team and  also is active in product and promotion training.
    Chlumsky (assistant vice president) moved to the marketing area of the bank in early 2013 after serving four years in deposit operations and as an items processing supervisor. He currently supports the bank’s marketing efforts as a market analyst and data manager.
    Hughes (assistant vice president) began her career with Sunflower Bank 15 years ago working in the deposit operations and IT areas. Since joining the human resource department, Hughes has focused on compensation and benefits management and maintaining sound vendor relationships.
    Several other promotions were made in the Salina, Junction City, Manhattan, Lawrence, Topeka, Hays and Warrensburg/Leeton locations.
