  • The Central Christian College women's tennis team improved their season record to 2-4 with a split in a triangular at Southwestern College on Thursday.
The Tigers lost a heartbreaker 4-5 in the morning match with Southwestern College, but bounced back in the afternoon by dismantling Oklahoma Wesleyan 9-0.
It was the first time in Central coach Jeremy Nelson's tenure that his ladies team defeated an opponent 9-0.
"I was very happy for our ladies,” Nelson said. “They are fun bunch to coach and a win like this is extremely important for our confidence as we move through the rest of our season."
The Tigers will be back in action next Saturday against Kansas Wesleyan University. Matches will start at 10 a.m. and will be played at McPherson High School.
