  • The McPherson College baseball team was swept to open up KCAC play this weekend, dropping all four games to the Tabor Blue Jays.
    The Bulldogs lost 10-4 and 8-5 on Friday evening in Hillsboro, and were looking to turn their luck around Saturday at Light Capital Diamond in McPherson.
    Mac led 5-1 through the first five innings of Saturday’s first game, but Tabor knocked in four runs at the top of the sixth to tie the game, forcing it into extra innings.
    Neither team could take control in the seventh. but Tabor knocked in three runs in the ninth to win 8-5.
    Tyler Watie picked up the loss for the Bulldogs after coming in during the ninth inning.
    Tabor’s momentum kept rolling in game two, winning 10-2. The Bulldogs fell to 4-15, 0-4 in the KCAC.
    Izak Wherry took the loss, as he took over for starting pitcher Brant Rhoades in the fifth inning.
    They next take the field Thursday at home against KWU.
