Southwestern College entered Monday’s doubleheader with Central Christian College on an eight game skid.

The Moundbuilders snapped it with two blowout wins over the Tigers, 9-3 and 10-2.

Central took a 2-1 lead in the first, but Southwestern responded with a three-run second inning to take a 4-2 lead, extending it to 7-2 in the fourth. Central plated one more in the bottom half of the frame, but the Moundbuilders responded in the fifth with a two-run home run that made it 9-3.

Southwestern jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Tigers managed to get their first run in the fourth, then added a second in the sixth.

Southwestern had the final say, however, with a four-run seventh inning that put the game on ice.
Central (4-8) faces McPherson College in a doubleheader today beginning at 4 p.m.
