At 11:34 a.m. Tuesday, an officer responded to a report of theft, forgery and criminal use of a financial card. The incident happened sometime between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on March 14, in the 1600 block of East Euclid. A credit and debit card were reportedly taken from the wallet of the victim. A large screen TV was reportedly purchased from a Wal-Mart in Augusta using the stolen cards, valued at $1,014. Police report that the investigation is ongoing.
At 1:21 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy took a report of theft by deception from the 600 block of Landmark Lane. Someone reportedly tried to trade a stolen vehicle for the vehicle of another individual. The transaction reportedly took place outside of McPherson County. Both vehicles have since been recovered.
LINDSBORG — At 2:41 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at a rest area on I-135, mile marker 68.5. Reported was a small electrical fire under the vehicle’s dash. A truck driver extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived on scene. There were no injuries, and no major damages to the vehicle.
