  • New Hope Evangelical Church in McPherson will host a public egg hunt at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The event is free, open to the public and will take place on church grounds.
A free pancake breakfast is provided to attendees, which will last from 9 to 10 a.m. Young children will also have access to family friendly activities during this time, including chalk drawings and the church playground.
The hunt for eggs will begin at 10 a.m., shortly after the breakfast. Children will be separated into three groups, based on age. Those groups will be for ages 0-2, ages 3-5, and kindergartners through fifth grade. The three groups will search for eggs in separate areas.
After the hunt, the church will pass out door prizes, including a new bicycle.
Sharla Jost, children’s ministry director for New Hope, said the event provides family-friendly fun, and gives children the opportunity to learn the real history behind Easter.
“Each child goes home with the good news of Easter,” she said. “We’ll be providing them with Resurrection Eggs, as well as “The Jesus Film,” which explains the good news of Easter in a way kids can understand.”
