  • The Tiger baseball team travelled north up highway 81 Thursday to play a four game series with the York Panthers, the MCAC's top team.
The Panthers took game one 12-2, scoring two runs in the second inning, five in the fifth, four in the sixth, and a final run in the seventh, to run rule the Tigers in seven innings.
The Tigers sent Thomas Koop to the hill for the start in game one. Koop threw four and a third giving up six runs on four hits. He faced 17 batters, walking two and striking out four.
Seven Tigers got on base but six were stranded allowing the Tigers to only score two runs.
Troy Richter had the only multi-hit game for the Tigers. Richter was 2-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI.
In the second game, the Tigers shored up their defense, but their bats went cold. The Panthers on the other hand continued their hot play scoring seven runs on eleven hits.
The Tigers managed only four hits in the game, and were shut out by Panthers 7-0.
Central fell to 11-21 on the season, 3-7 in the MCAC.
The Tigers and Panthers will square off again this afternoon at 1 p.m. for the final two games of the series.
