  • Voter turnout for Tuesday’s elections isn’t expected to exceed 20 percent.
    Based on the indication of advanced voting, the McPherson County clerk’s office said turnout looks similar to the last election, which was about 17 to 20 percent of the county population.
    Advanced voting, which can be done at the county clerks office at the McPherson County Courthouse, March 13, and will end at noon Monday.
    Since March 13, the county clerks office sent out 273 advanced voting forms to disabled voters, and has had seven mail-in forms requests. About 160 advanced voting forms have since been returned, and three mail-in requests have been received. The county clerk’s office also reports 102 walk-in advanced voters so far, and one federal service vote.
    Polls for elections will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
    All voters must present a photo ID at registration. If you’re a first time voter in the state of Kansas, you must also present proof of citizenship.
    Ballots and polling locations will change depending on the address of McPherson County residents.
