  • Tigers take fifth at Bethel Invitational

  • The Central Christian men’s golf team came in fifth at the Bethel Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday, with Bethany College claiming the team title.

  • The Central Christian men’s golf team came in fifth at the Bethel Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday, with Bethany College claiming the team title.
    The meet was split between Sandcreek Golf Course and Hesston Golf Course.
    The Tigers were led by Treg Fawl, who finished fifth with Bethany’s Ben Johnson. Fawl had rounds of 78 and 73 for a combined score of 151, finishing eight over par.
    Derek Lehman finished tied for 15th with rounds of 83 and 74 and 14 over. Brady Sherman was tied at 28th with a 163 and shooting 20 over par.
    The Swedes’ Greg Miller and Jose Lelode Larrea both tied for third with a combined 150 and seven over par. James Tisdale finished alone at ninth with rounds of 77 and 76, finishing at 10 over par.
    The Swedes finished first with a total team score of 602 over the two days and were 30 over par. Bethany was followed by Southwestern College (607, 35 over), Pittsburg State University (629) and Sterling College (630).
    The Tigers’ spring season continues Monday and Tuesday with the Hesston Invitational.
