  • Susan Zeller was elected Tuesday to the USD 444 Little River Board of Education position six.
    According to the Rice County Courthouse, Zeller received 143 votes at 60.85 percent, surging past running opponent Philip Nelson, who had 90 votes at 38.30 percent.
    McPherson County voters contributed 11 of Zeller’s votes and 31 of Nelson’s votes.
    Jered Wilson ran unopposed for position four on the board and received 182 votes at 93 percent.
    McPherson County voters contributed 23 of Wilson’s votes.
    Doug Peters ran unopposed for position five on the board and received 197 votes at 94 percent.
    McPherson County voters contributed 27 of Peters’ votes.
    Rice County’s votes will be finalized during a canvas at 9 a.m. Monday at the courthouse.
