Marvin D. Krehbiel, 87, of McPherson, passed away at 3:49 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, peacefully, at Cedars Health Care Center, McPherson.

Marvin  D. Krehbiel, 87, of McPherson, passed away at 3:49 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, peacefully, at Cedars Health Care Center, McPherson.

Marvin was born in Castleton, on Nov. 22, 1925, a son of Emma (Graber) and Rudolph Martin “Rudy” Krehbiel.

Marvin attended the McPherson grade schools, McPherson Junior High and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, in 1943. He then attended McPherson College and graduated in 1948. He later went back and received his Teaching Degree from McPherson College.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson.

Through the years Marvin was an Auctioneer, Real Estate Broker, Farmer, Stockman, and Teacher. He helped developed an underground storage business in Conway, and the interstate exchange at the McPherson exit.

Marvin was a member of the Elk's Lodge B.P.O.E. 502 and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the McPherson Senior Center playing pool and bridge. He also sang in a quartet and served on the McPherson school board for many years and liked bird watching.

Marvin was united in marriage to Roberta M. Mohler on June 5, 1948, at McPherson. Marvin was united in marriage to Deneen Lynn Backer Bisceglia on Nov. 19, 1982 at Miami, Okla.

Marvin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of more than 30 years, Deneen Krehbiel, of McPherson; his children, Susan Taylor and her husband Bud, of McPherson, Mary K. Bowman and her husband Carl, of Tipp City,  Ohio, John Krehbiel and his wife Cindy, of McPherson, and Tim Krehbiel and his wife Patti, of Oxford, Ohio; his sisters, Betty Stockton and her husband Charles, of Clermont, Fla., and Valera Rumsey, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; his 10 grandchildren, Thomas Taylor and his wife Amy, Jennifer Pollard and her husband Nathan, Adam Bowman and his wife Kim, Andrew Bowman, William Krehbiel, Robb Krehbiel, J.J. Krehbiel, Edward “Ed” Krehbiel, Nathan “Rudy” Krehbiel, and Rhonda Krehbiel; his great-grandson, Ender Taylor and one more Taylor on the way; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church, McPherson, with Rev. Mike Marion and Rev. Harold Nelson officiating.

Private family graveside will be at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson.
