  • MHS JV netters compete against Salina Central, Smoky Valley

  • The McPherson High JV tennis team took third in the Salina Central Invitational Monday and then won a triangular with Smoky Valley and Hesston on Tuesday.

  • The McPherson High JV tennis team took third in the Salina Central Invitational Monday and then won a triangular with Smoky Valley and Hesston on Tuesday.
    The Pups finished with 15 team points Monday behind a third place finish from Daniel Fallis in No. 2 singles. Daniel Holthus finished fourth in the No. 1 singles bracket, while the No. 1 doubles team of Luke Williams and Gallagher Martin also had a fourth place finish.
    Salina Central took meet as a team with 27 points, followed by Manhattan with 24.
    Monday’s meet saw the Pups win with seven team points, followed by Hesston (3) and Smoky Valley (2).
    In the singles brackets, Williams went 2-0 and claimed first in No. 1 singles. Daylan Chapman went 1-1 and finished second in No. 2 singles.
    Both doubles teams finished first in their brackets Tuesday. The No. 1 doubles team of Nick Carlson and Martin went 2-0 for first, while Fallis and Chris Dittrick went 2-0 for first in the No. 2 doubles bracket.
    The Bullpups are off now until Saturday, when they will travel to Valley Center to take part in the Valley Center Invitational. The meet is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
    They follow up Valley Center with the Newton Invitational on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
