  • Tigers swept by Haskell to end road swing

  • The Central Christian softball team wrapped up a brutal five day stretch of eight games with a pair of heartbreaking losses on the road at Haskell University on Tuesday afternoon.

  • The Central Christian softball team wrapped up a brutal five day stretch of eight games with a pair of heartbreaking losses on the road at Haskell University on Tuesday afternoon.
    The Tigers, who played Friday, Saturday and Monday against conferences opponents, lost to Haskell 10-11 in game one, and 18-19 in game two.
    Offense was the word of the day for both teams. The Tiger bats came alive in game one to the tune of ten runs on eleven hits.
    Brooklynn Lemons reached base all five times with four walks and one hit. Jacquelyn Perez, Cailyn Spiker, and Samantha Wilson each had two hits for the Tigers. Perez and Wilson also drove in three runs each.
    Mallory Smith was on the mound for the Tigers. Smith pitched all six innings giving up eleven runs on fifteen hits. She walked three and struck out two in the loss.
    In the second game, the Tiger offense scored eighteen runs on thirteen hits Seniors Samantha Wilson and Angela Jamison and freshman Cailyn Spiker had the hot bats for the Tigers. Wilson was 3 for 6 and four RBI. Jamison was 2 for 4, including a home run, and three RBI.
    Desiree Yandell was on the hill for the Tigers. Yandell pitched three and two-thirds giving up 14 runs on sixteen hits.
    The Tigers are now 4-24 on the season.
    They are back in action this weekend with MCAC home games against Oklahoma Wesleyan on Friday and Central Baptist on Saturday. Game times Friday are set for 2 and 4 p.m.
