The Central Christian soccer program has kept it in the family in adding to its coaching staff for the upcoming season.
Tiger head coach Aaron Hoxie is pleased to announce the addition of younger brother Andrew Hoxie to the CCC coaching staff for next season.
Andrew Hoxie comes to Central with a wealth of playing experience, which will be a valuable asset as he transitions into a coaching career.
Hoxie won All-American honors from 2007-2009 while at The College of William and Mary, including Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year in 2009.
He was drafted 37th overall by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2010 MLS Super Draft, but never signed a professional contract with the team.
He did sign, however, with the Rochester Rhinos of the USL in March, 2010. In three years with the Rhinos, Hoxie scored 15 goals and added 9 assists.
During the winter of 2011, he signed with Rochester Lancers of the Major Indoor Soccer League scoring 18 times and dishing out 16 assists.
In 2012, he signed a two-year contract with Wichita Wings where he scored 22 goals and had 4 assists in his inaugural season with the club.
During his off-season, he began graduate studies and hopes to have his masters in Sports Management within two years.
"I am very excited to be working with this staff and am looking forward to helping this program grow into a top college team," Hoxie said. "From what I have seen, the current players have been working hard this off season, and are eager to start playing some games. I cannot wait to get out on the pitch with them."
Aaron Hoxie is excited to have his brother joining the Central Christian staff.
"With family comes trust, which is very important to me," he said. "I know that our program will be enhanced with him on staff."
