  • The Swedish Crown Restaurant, reopened in January by Lindsborg natives, is hosting a four course wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Chef Shana Everhart has created a menu that will provide guests with a blend of both the unique and familiar and will showcase the different wines being served.
"I want to create food that will not only pair well with the wines, but that will give our guests dishes that they might not have all the time, all while utilizing local flavors such as duck and buffalo" Everhart said.
The menu consists of four courses each being paired with a specific wine. For a full menu, interested guests can review The Swedish Crown Restaurant's Facebook Page.
Educating guests on the different wines is Sommelier, Chad Bowman. Bowman is a Level 2 Sommelier - Court of Master Sommelier as well as Certified Wine Educator. Bowman is also an instructor of Wine Education at Kansas State University as well as a Wine Account Manager for LDF Sales & Distributing out of Wichita.
His expertise will help guests learn more about each particular wine that they enjoy throughout the evening.
The price is $45 which includes a four course dinner and wine. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 785-227-8422.
"We are excited to be able to offer this to our guests. There aren't many restaurants in the surrounding area that have this quality of food and offer an experience like this one, especially for this price" Eric Lundstrom, Co-Owner, said. "We hope this wine dinner will be a great success so we can do more events like this throughout the year."
The Swedish Crown Restaurant is a full service restaurant located in the heart of downtown Lindsborg. It offers guests both casual and more elegant dining with its two different dining areas.
The Vasa, located in the back of the restaurant, was first originated when Kansas liquor laws only allowed alcohol to be sold in private clubs. Even though the law has changed, it keeps its quiet and intimate atmosphere that hosts a full bar, lounge area and live music.
The Swedish Crown uses fresh products such as California Rock Fish and Creekstone Natural Beef, breads baked in-house and dressings made from scratch.
The menu balances traditional Scandinavian dishes with modern American favorites with a twist. Guests can truly experience a taste of Sweden.
