McPherson showed no mercy Monday afternoon, as the Lady Pups let the bats rip against Buhler, winning 13-2 and 14-3.
Senior Azaria Romero led the Bullpup charge in both games, finishing the day with 8-for-10 hitting, including five singles, a pair of doubles and a three-run blast to left center field. Romero had eight RBI’s and three runs scored between the two games.
“She is hitting the cover off the ball and it’s fun to watch,” MHS coach Cody Stucky said.
Abby Steiner picked up the win in game one, pitching six innings, getting one strike out and giving up only one walk. Outside of Romero, Paige Regnier also had a solid day at the plate in game one, going 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
Madison Hoffman, Jasmine Wann, Hannah Marshall and Marissa Axelson all had an RBI.
Axelson got the win in game two, pitching a complete game and striking out eight while walking seven.
Regnier and Romero both had the hot hands for McPherson in game two, with Regnier going 3-for-4 with four RBI’s and three runs scored. Chelsey Kerr picked up an RBI off 2-for-5 hitting.
MHS moves to 8-3 on the season, 6-0 in AVCTL Div. III play.
The MHS JV lost game one 7-5. The second game was called in a tie due to the extreme winds.
