  • As a recent transplant to the state of Colorado, I find the answer to why our country is in a mess.
Colorado seems to be a liberal-thinking state with little or no common sense and depends on government to take care of its citizens at the expense of the taxpayers.
Recently, the citizens of the state voted in the legalize marijuana as a recreational drug. This will let citizens become legal potheads. Some of these legal potheads may be driving the school bus or driving on the highway that the school bus uses to take children to school. No common sense thinking used here.
The recent shooting at Newtown Elementary School killed 26 people. How many people riding on a school bus could be killed by a pothead driving the bus, or a big rig or an automobile on the highway? You Coloradans voted to put your children at greater risk. How much common sense thinking was used here?
The liberal way of thinking is to ban all guns but not marijuana. We need our recreational fix. No self-reliance or common sense thinking used here.
The colleges and universities are going to be overflowing with drug users and potheads from all over the country because it’s legal to get high in Colorado. Higher learning will be up in smoke.
The world does not owe anyone a free ride, but self-reliant citizens with common sense would help make a difference. A drugged-out society is a dysfunctional society.
