  • Three event highlights
    1. Broadway RFD and Bethany College will perform "The Cherry Orchard" by A. Chekov at 7:30 today through Saturday at the Burnett Center on the Bethany College campus.
"That's really exciting to have two really talented groups come together and put on this classic play," Tricia Clark of the Lindsborg Convention and Visitor's Bureau said.
The plot surrounds a Russian woman and her family as they return to the family's estate — which includes a large cherry orchard — just before it's auctioned to pay the mortgage.
Tickets can be obtained at the door and are $10 general admission and $8 for Bethany faculty and students.
    2. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, visitors will have the opportunity to tour artists' galleries and home studios. Demonstrations and treats are included. Maps of the 12 studios are available at the Raymer Society/Red Barn Studio, 212 S. Main St. This annual event has been running for more than 15 years.
"This is a great opportunity to see and visit local artists, and a wonderful opportunity for such a small town to have so many studios and an artistic vibe," Clark said. "There will be plenty to look at."
    3. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, businesses across town will offer 1960s-themed events, sales, prizes and food for an event dubbed Flower Power.
    Why you should attend
"We wanted a fun day for the weekend," Clark said. "That will be nice with all the crazy weather we've been having."
