  • Bulldogs pick up first win against Ottawa

  • Jenna Kaiser hit a three-run blast in the first inning of game one, leading McPherson College to their first KCAC win of the 2013 season, a 6-4 triumph over Ottawa Wednesday afternoon.
    The Braves responded in game two with a 13-3 dismantling of the Bulldogs.
    Kaiser’s three-run home run in game one gave the Mac College a 3-0 lead, but Ottawa quickly responded with one run in the third and two in the fourth to tie it up.
    Whitney Miller gave McPherson (5-20, 1-11 KCAC) a shot in the arm with a two-run shot over the right field fence to break the tie and give the Bulldogs back the lead for good.
    Kaiser finished game one 1-for-3 with three RBI’s, while Miller was 1-for-4 with two RBI’s. Allison Love went all seven innings in the win for McPherson, giving up four runs on 11 hits. She struck out eight batters.
    Ottawa scored ten of their runs before the third inning ended, adding three more in the fourth on their way to the five-inning win.
    Love took the loss in working 2 1/3 innings. She gave up eight runs on 11 hits.
    McPherson travels to North Newton tonight for a doubleheader with Bethel beginning at 5 p.m.
