  • Smoky Valley’s Eryn Stockman battled through tight back muscles in game two of the Viking’s sweep of Sterling Monday to become the school’s all-time leader in triples.
    Smoky Valley took game one 5-0 and game two 12-7.
    Stockman had triples in both games to up her total to 13 in breaking the record. She also threw a one-hitter in game one and nearly had her second-career no-hitter, as Sterling’s first hit came with a bloop single with two outs in the seventh inning.
    Stockman had 13 strike outs in the win.
    Chipping in offensively for the Vikings in game one was Keni Campbell and Emily Norberg, both of whom had two hits. Hannah Morrical had a two-RBI single in the sixth.
    Smoky Valley (8-4, 7-3 CKL) scored 10 runs in the first four innings of game two, thanks in part to the offensive efforts of Norberg.
    The senior had two hits, one a triple, with three RBI’s. Stockman and Carly Kolling also had two hits.
    Maddie Klotzbach, Hannah McBride and Kasey Kolling all scored two runs.
    McBride was the winning pitcher of game two, going five innings and getting three strike outs. She gave up five hits.
