The Moundridge and Inman softball teams split a doubleheader Tuesday at Moundridge, with the Wildcats winning a tight game one 5-6 and the Teutons taking game two 11-7.
Moundridge held a 4-2 lead after the first inning, but Inman wouldn’t give up, tying the game at 5-5 in the fifth. The Wildcats scored one in the bottom of the frame to take the win.
Hope Wedel was the winning pitcher, going five innings and striking out two.
The teams were tied 1-1 after the first inning of game two, but the Teutons had a three-run second inning to jump out ahead. They added one in the third, but Moundridge tied it in the bottom of the inning after scoring four.
The Wildcats took the lead in the fourth, but a four-run Teuton fifth sealed the win. Inman added two insurance runs in the seventh.
