At 1:59 a.m. Sunday, a fire broke out at a house in the 100 block of South Kelly in McPherson.
Two people were in the house at the time of the fire. Both were able to escape the home uninjured.
The fire reportedly started inside a bedroom wall. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, police report the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.
Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. Some smoke damage was reported, and estimated damages are placed at $2,500.
McPherson EMS also responded to the fire.
