  • Christopher A. Heidebrecht, 50, of Heritage Lakes, N.J., died of cancer at his residence on Saturday, May 4, 2013.

  • Christopher A. Heidebrecht, 50, of Heritage Lakes, N.J., died of cancer at his residence on Saturday, May 4, 2013.
    He was born Dec. 9, 1962, to Roger Lee Meeks and Sandra Linn Heidebrecht in Wichita.
    Chris was an avid athlete who participated in basketball, football, track and cross country. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1981. He received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Kansas State University.
    He had lived in Kansas and Colorado before moving to the Heritage Lakes section of Hamburg, N.J., eight years ago.
    Chris worked more than 25 years in the ski industry. He worked at Hidden Valley Club and Mountain Creek Resort, in Vernon, N.J., where he was director of resort operations. Chris also worked at Keystone Resort in Colorado for 19 years, where he had a variety of management positions, including director of skier services, ski and school ride director, and Mahre Training Center director.
    Chris taught all over the world and acquired numerous Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) training achievements.
    Chris was the husband of Shannon (O’Leary) Heidebrecht; father of daughters, Hana and Na Pali Heidebrecht, all of Heritage Lakes, N.J.; brother of Shane Meeks of Rockford, Mich., Robert Heidebrecht of Loveland, Colo., and Angie Ontjes of Hutchinson; son of Roger Meeks of Claremore, Okla., and Sandra Heidebrecht of Wichita. He also had seven nieces, three nephews and 17 cousins.
