Former Inman mayor John O’Brien swore in Jim Toews as Inman’s new mayor during a city council meeting Tuesday.
Don Froese also was sworn in as a new council member for the city.
O’Brien was presented a plaque by council member Keith Miller for his service to the city. Former council member Bob Jones also was presented a certificate for his service to the city.
The council reviewed the 2012 water conservation plan and discussed possible changes to the plan going into 2013. The mayor will put together a recommendation for the council to be heard during the next council meeting, which will be at 10:30 a.m. July 10.
In other business:
- Some sludge in sewer lagoon cell No. 1 needs to be cleaned out. Bids are being sought for the cleaning.
- Some roadwork is planned on Balzer and South Locust sometime later this year.
- The Inman museum was granted $1,653, the remaining balance of the $4,000 budgeted for 2013.
