  • Memorial Day services set in Little River, Windom

  • There will be three Memorial Day services Monday in the Windom and Little River areas. The first service will be at 9 a.m. at Windom Cemetery. The second service will be at 10 a.m. at Andover Church Cemetery.

  • There will be three Memorial Day services Monday in the Windom and Little River areas. The first service will be at 9 a.m. at Windom Cemetery. The second service will be at 10 a.m. at Andover Church Cemetery.
    The program will proceed as follows:
    • Raise the flags
    • Salute to flags
    • Invocation
    • Address — Rep. Clark Schultz
    • Reading of Veterans
    • Benediction
    • Salute to the Dead
    • Playing of “Taps”
    The events are sponsored by Windom Booster Club. Coffee will be served at Windom Senior Center following service.
    The public is invited.
    In case of rain, the service will be at Windom Senior Center.
    The third service will be at 10:30 a.m. at Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River.
    The program will proceed as follows:
    • Color Guard and Flag Detail by the Little River American Legion/Auxiliary — U.S. Air Force
    • Salute flags by the Little River American Legion — U.S. Air Force
    • Master of Ceremonies presentation by Commander, Tim Oswalt, U.S. Navy
    • Invocation by Pastor Ted Weis
    • Special music by Combined Community Choir
    • Speaker — Captain C. Kinsley Jordan, USAF
    • Benediction by Pastor Josh Johnson
    • Salute to the Dead by the Little River American Legion — U.S. Air Force
    • Playing of “Taps” by U.S. Air Force
    In case of bad weather the service will be in the American Legion building in Little River. Refreshments will be served at the Little River Senior Center following the service. Lunch will be served at the American Legion Building, sponsored by the American Legion/Auxiliary.
