The eighth annual Brush Up Mac was April 20, 2013. The weather was beautiful and 160 volunteers shared breakfast at The First United Methodist Church before starting out on the projects.
We had 17 homes to work on. We raked leaves, trimmed bushes, took out a tree, built a wheelchair ramp, installed a garage door and did some minor painting among other things.
We would like to thank everyone who played a part in helping make Brush Up Mac a huge success. The volunteers, the sponsors who donated food, materials, pickup trucks, and of course, money, The First United Methodist for the use of Hess Hall for breakfast, cookies and water for the volunteers and Community Action from Topeka for the T-shirts.
Once again, it is wonderful to see people, young and old, from all walks of life, working together to help those who need assistance. The Brush Up Mac Committee of the McPherson Housing Coalition says thank you McPherson!
