Three Event Highlights

1. The Wichita Children's Theatre will present the show as part of its  “Once Upon a Time” series, which is geared toward 2- to 10-year-olds. At several points, the actors will encourage audience interaction.

2. In this musical, Little Red learns not to talk to strangers, and the wolf learns not to trick people, especially people who live next to a poison ivy patch, according to a brochure.

3. The performance is brought to McPherson through the Lisa Waldhauer Memorial Fund.

Why you should attend

Monica Flynn, Wichita Children's Theatre executive director, said the show is aimed to encourage art exposure to children at a young age, which she believes is a forgotten age group.

Flynn also said the Wichita Children's Theatre has a message in each show. Saturday's performance will help drive the lesson that children should not talk to strangers and should make sure their parents know where they are at all times.
