At 2:23 p.m. Friday, a 15-year-old Canton male shot himself in the leg while playing with his father’s .357 revolver.
According to Canton officers, the boy unloaded his father’s gun before playing with it. After re-loading it, the gun discharged as he was putting it away, shooting a bullet through the boy’s left calf. No bones were hit by the bullet; only muscle and tissue.
The boy was taken to Newton Medical Center by EMS personnel.
McPherson EMS personnel and a deputy also responded to the scene.
