  • Staci Carter of Muskogee, Okla., has signed a letter of intent to play women's basketball at Bethany College for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Carter, a 6-foot-1 forward, is transferring to Bethany from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Prior to that she attended Muskogee High School where she averaged 10 points and eight rebounds per game. She had shot 65 percent from the field and 85 percent from the foul line.
"Staci brings much needed depth, size and experience to our front-court,” Bethany coach Brett Morehouse said. “She is strong and aggressive and can finish shots in traffic. Although she did not play last year, Staci was not separated from the game of basketball. She worked last season as a high school coach and I think that experience has expanded her knowledge of the game and has fueled her desire to return to the court and finish her playing career."
Carter is the daughter of Richard and Bonnie Carter and plans to major in English.
