At 10:24 p.m. Friday, officers arrested Jennifer A. Carson, 52, of McPherson on charges of D.U.I. second offense and child endangerment. Two children were in the vehicle when she was arrested on the D.U.I. charge. A $1,756 bond was posted.

At 11:07 p.m. Friday, officers, firefighters and EMS personnel responded to a motorcycle injury accident that occurred in the 400 block of East Seitz Street. Lanita Kasiska of McPherson was driving down East Seitz when she ran into the back of a legally parked trailer. She was transported to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis with major injuries.
At 11:32 a.m. Friday, firefighters, EMS personnel and officers responded to a fire at Kids Come First, located in the 900 block of East First. Flames were reported by staff members in an electric oven. The oven was unplugged, but the kitchen continued to fill with smoke. Local construction workers on First Street aided in the evacuation of children from the day care. There were no reported injuries. Damage was done to the oven, the ceiling and installation in the building. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived on scene.
LINDSBORG —At 9:48 a.m. Sunday, an officer, EMS personnel and deputies arrested Stephen Pokorny, 54, of York, NE. on charges of stalking, battery, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. Pokorny reportedly followed a Salina man and woman from Salina to Lindsborg and later broke into the residence of a different Lindsborg woman’s residence and committed battery. Pokorny was taken to Lindsborg Community Hospital for mental evaluation. Details about the victim of battery, as well as any injuries suffered, are unavailable at this time. All three victims claim not to know Pokorny.
