Neva Jane (Bartel) Rhodenbaugh, 80, of McPherson, Kan., passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013, peacefully at the Newton Medical Center, Newton, Kan.
Neva was born Dec. 31, 1032, at Durham, Kan., the daughter of Seth Henry and Dora (Weidenkeller) Bartel. Neva attended school in Durham, Kan. She was a homemaker and worked part-time throughout the years as a cook in several restaurants and nursing homes throughout Kansas.
Neva was united in marriage to Glen Raymond “Ray” Rhodenbaugh on Sept. 2, 1959, in Miami, Okla.
Survivors include three sons, Randall Ray Rhodenbaugh, Salina, Richard Ron Rhodenbaugh and wife Debra, Inman, Robert RaDel Rhodenbaugh, Moundridge; one daughter, Ranel Renee Koehn and husband Tony, McPherson. Neva has seven grandchildren, Dustin and wife Ann Roberts, Alisha and husband Jason Elliot, Travis and wife Alexis Rhodenbaugh, Ashley and husband Eddie Washington, Amanda Rhodenbaugh, Trenton Koehn, Travis Koehn; and eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Taylee, Michael, Jordyn, Natalie, Aria, Anjelica, and Addisyn.
Neva was preceded in death by parents, Seth and Dora Bartel; her devoted and loving husband of more than 50 years, Ray; and one brother, Leonard Howard Bartel.
Cremation has taken place with a private family memorial service. In remembrance of Neva’s life, a come-and-go reception with friends and family will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the Girl Scout Cabin, Euclid and North Lakeside Drive, McPherson, Kan. Friends and family may sign a memorial book at that time. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Neva Jane Rhodenbaugh Memorial Fund, in care of Sunflower Bank, 120 W.
