  • Five former Bethany College football players will battle for the first-ever Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) Championship game title.
The game will feature the Salina Bombers and the Wichita Wild on Saturday at Hartman Arena in Wichita. Kick-off is set for 7:05 p.m.
DeWayne Autrey, Ira Autrey, Tyler Vogt and Zach Waggoner all play for the Salina Bombers while Alex Fambrough plays for the Wichita Wild.
There are a total of 21 former KCAC football players from Bethel College, Friends University, Kansas Wesleyan University, Sterling College and Tabor College playing in the CPIFL.
After finishing the regular season 9-3, the No. 4 seed Salina Bombers knocked out the No. 1 seed Sioux City Bandits, 29-28, in the playoffs last Saturday while the No. 3 seed Wild (11-2) defeated No. 2 Omaha Beef, 31-25.
The Bombers will look to get revenge as the Wild swept them in the regular season (60-34, 45-40).
The game will be broadcast live on sports radio 1410 AM KGSO out of Wichita and 99.9 FM KSKG out of Salina.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid long lines. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday or order by phone 316-927-3999. On Saturday, the doors will open to the general public at 5:30 p.m. Tailgating in the parking lot is encouraged.
