  • Kansas City starter Luis Mendoza looked spectacular on the mound for the first four innings Wednesday, but a home run in the fifth and a two-run sixth left the Royals staring at a 6-3 loss.
Cleveland took the series with Kansas City two games to one, marking only the fourth time in 15 games the Royals have lost.
Mendoza went through the first four innings without giving up a hit. Michael Brantley broke the no-hitter in the fifth with a home run to right-field.
He then added another in the eighth off of Luke Hochevar’s first pitch.
