After having to wait a few extra days, the Canton-Galva tightened their grip on first place of the Cottonwood Valley League Wednesday night, as they swept Chase County 7-6 and 10-6.
Tanner Klingensmith and Ryan Grant combined to give Canton-Galva the win on the mound, as Klingensmith went the first four innings, giving up six runs off seven hits and striking out seven.
Grant took over in the fifth, striking out the side to leave it 6-6 going into the bottom of the fifth.
Nick Bray scored the winning run off a double steal.
Canton-Galva held a 4-0 lead going into the fourth, but gave up six runs to Chase County.
Canton-Galva came back in the bottom of the sixth to pull off the win. Bray was the winning pitcher.
Canton-Galva is at Hillsboro this evening.
