At 11:33 a.m. Wednesday, officers, Canton officers, a Galva officer, deputies, EMS personnel, Canton EMS personnel and Canton firefighters responded to a high-speed pursuit ending in an accident. Officers attempted to make contact with some subjects at First and Main when the chase began. The chase ended in an accident that occurred at 27th Avenue and Moccasin. Nathanial H. Abernathy, 18, was arrested on charges of a felony count of possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor count of possession of stolen property and felony fleeing and eluding. A $5,500 bond was posted. Officers also arrested Drake E. Marr, 18, of Wichita on charges of a felony count of possession of stolen property and a misdemeanor count of possession of stolen property. A $3,000 bond was posted. A 20 year old Topeka woman was also in the vehicle at the time, but was not arrested on any charges. Both the woman and Abernathy were transported to McPherson Hospital. The woman was released with no injuries, and Abernathy suffered only minor injuries. Marr had no injures and was not transported.
