  • Swede golfers earn postseason honors

  • Two members of the Bethany College men's golf team have been named 2013 KCAC Scholar-Athletes as announced by the conference on Wednesday.

  • Two members of the Bethany College men's golf team have been named 2013 KCAC Scholar-Athletes as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
    Ben Johnson is a sophomore from West Sussex, England, majoring in business. Jose Luis Lelo de Larrea is a sophomore from Queretaro, Mexico, majoring in business.
    Student-athletes must have sophomore standing at the start of the sport season, maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.33 on a 4.0 scale, and letter in their sport.

    Additionally, Johnson has been named a third team NAIA PING All-American as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Wednesday.
    Johnson led the KCAC in scoring and was named Player of the Year following his four stroke win at the KCAC Championship Tournament. He went on to represent the Swedes team in the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship in Salem, Ore., last month.
    Shane Gilbert from Southwestern College, the KCAC Golf Championship Team, is the only other KCAC member represented on the All-America Team.
