At 7:21 a.m. Monday, officers took a report of theft that occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday and 7:21 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of South Chestnut. Stolen was a motorcycle valued at $1,350.

At 11:56 a.m. Monday, an officer took a report of criminal damage to property that occurred sometime between 10 a.m. on June 13 and 11 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of East Kansas Avenue. A window of a business was broken. Estimated losses are $1,000.

At 3:02 p.m. Monday, an officer took a report of theft that occurred sometime between 8 p.m. on June 21 and 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of West Euclid. Stolen was a Schwinn moped, valued at $2,000.


CANTON — At 10:03 a.m. Monday, firefighters, Galva firefighters, McPherson firefighters, Moundridge firefighters, Goessel firefighters, emergency medical assistance and Canton EMS personnel responded to a large grass fire at 27th and Comanche. The fire reportedly started due to a blown transformer, catching nearby stubble on fire. Hot winds caused the fire to spread, burning more than 60 acres of land. No injuries were reported, and the only losses were stubble and trees. No structures were reportedly threatened.
