LINDSBORG — Connected, A Fair Trade store, had its grand opening in downtown Lindsborg Friday through Sunday.
Located at 131 N. Main Street, this 100 percent Fair Trade store will offer a wide variety of products from the United States and all around the world. Jewelry, accessories, clothing, sculptures, ceramics, baskets, paper products, kitchen and home goods will fill the 3,000 square foot store.
"Fair Trade is so great... it provides artisans and farmers direct market access that pays them fairly on an ongoing basis,” said Amy Kay Pavlovich, owner. “Consumers are able to buy handmade, wonderful products at a price that is fair to them as well. Fair Trade is good for everyone."
The building itself was built in the early 1900's and will feature historic wooden shelving from a neighboring building that housed Swedish Crafts for a number of decades.
"Our family is excited to return to Kansas and we are thankful to get to be a part of the good business of Fair Trade in Lindsborg,” Pavlovich said.
Connected will be open seven days a week: Mondays-Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. Connected has an active Facebook page and also an informational website at www.connectedfairtrade.com.
